Terms of Service
Last updated: October 27, 2026
The short version
Ansever is a private social network for the people you actually know. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. The main points:
- You must be at least 16 to use Ansever.
- One account per person, in your own name, with true details.
- Your content stays yours. You only let us store it and show it to the people you chose.
- Treat people well. No harassment, hate, threats, spam, scams, illegal content, or pretending to be someone else.
- Ansever is free for individuals, with no ads and nothing sold about you.
- If you break the rules, we can warn you, limit your account, remove content or close the account, and you can always appeal.
- You can leave at any time, and download all your data before you go.
Who can use Ansever
You can use Ansever if all of these are true:
- You are at least 16 years old. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and refuse sign-ups from anyone younger. Your date of birth can't be changed later in settings; if it is wrong, ask us, and we review the change. If we learn that someone under 16 has an account, we close it.
- You are a person, using your own account. One account per person, for your own personal use. Accounts for businesses, brands or bots are not allowed.
- Your details are true. Use your own first and last name, so the people you know can find you, and a real email address you can open.
- We haven't closed an account of yours before, and the law of your country doesn't stop you from using Ansever.
While registration is on hold, only people who received an invitation can sign up, using the address the invitation was sent to.
Your account and keeping it safe
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep it safe:
- Use a strong password (at least 10 characters) that you don't use anywhere else, and don't share it.
- Turn on two-step login in Settings, and keep your recovery codes somewhere safe.
- Keep your email address up to date: password resets and important notices go there.
- If you think someone else got into your account, change your password at once; this logs out every other device. You can also see and end your sessions in Settings.
If you lose both your password and your two-step login, we can help you recover the account. For your safety this takes 7 days, and we warn your email address at once so you can stop it if the request wasn't yours.
Community rules
Ansever works because people know each other and treat each other well. These rules apply to everything: posts, stories, comments, messages, group chats, profiles and invitations. They match the reasons anyone can pick when reporting something.
| Not allowed | For example |
|---|---|
| Spam or scams | Mass messages or invitations, fake offers, phishing, selling followers |
| Harassment or bullying | Insults, threats of exposure, pile-ons, contacting someone who has blocked you through another account |
| Hate speech | Attacking people for their ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation |
| Violence or threats | Threatening anyone, encouraging violence, glorifying attacks |
| Nudity or sexual content | Sexual images or videos, and sharing anyone's intimate images without their consent |
| Putting a child at risk | Anything that sexualises or endangers a child. We report it to the authorities |
| Promoting self-harm or suicide | Encouraging or instructing self-harm. If you see someone at risk, report it so we can help |
| Pretending to be someone else | Using another person's name or photos, or an account that misleads people about who you are |
| Anything illegal | Content or activity against the law, including breaking someone's copyright |
| False reports | Reporting things you know don't break the rules, to harm someone |
Also not allowed: trying to break into accounts or into Ansever itself, collecting other people's data (for example with automated tools), getting around a limit, a block or a penalty, and using Ansever to advertise or sell.
Your content
You own what you post. Your posts, photos, videos, stories, comments and messages stay yours.
The permission you give us. So that Ansever can work, you give us a limited permission to store, copy, process (for example resize photos and videos) and show your content, only to the people you chose to share it with, and only to run Ansever. It is free of charge, and we can't sell it or pass it on to others. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain for a short time in our backups, and content we must keep for an open report, a police case or an appeal (see the Privacy Policy).
Only post what you're allowed to. Post only content you made or have the right to share. If you share photos or videos of other people, make sure they're fine with it.
Some content stays when you leave. Your comments on other people's posts and your side of past conversations stay where they are, so other people's threads still make sense, but they then show as "Deleted user", with no name or picture.
Who sees your content depends on where you post it and your settings; the Privacy Policy explains each case, including tags and group chats.
Limits that keep Ansever fair
To stop spam and keep Ansever running smoothly for everyone, some things have limits. When you reach one, Ansever tells you what's happening and, where it applies, when you can continue.
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Friends | Up to 1,000 |
| Invitations by email | 100 a day, 500 a week, 1,000 in the life of an account |
| Searches | 100 in 10 minutes; going over pauses search for 20 minutes |
| Photos | Up to 12 in a post, 25 MB each |
| Videos | One in a post or story, up to 300 MB and 1 minute; for a longer video you pick the minute to keep |
| Comments | Up to 2,000 characters |
| Downloading your data | Once a month (once more when deleting your account) |
We may stop some features for everyone for a while, for example video uploads when our servers need it; we say so when you try. Limits may change as Ansever grows; the current ones are always on this page.
Reports, moderation and appeals
Reporting. You can report any post, comment, story, profile or message from its "⋯" menu. People without an account can report illegal content through the public form linked at the bottom of every page. Reports are confidential: the person reported is not told who reported them.
What we can do. When something breaks these terms or the law, an admin can:
- send you a warning;
- limit posting, commenting or messaging for a set time;
- freeze your account: you can still log in, accept friend requests and remove friends, but not post, comment, react, message, send requests or invite, until the freeze is lifted;
- remove a post, story or comment;
- ban the account: it is closed at once and deleted after 6 months, the time you have to appeal. A banned email address can't be used to sign up again.
Every decision names the rule that was broken and is recorded. Admins can never act on their own account or a friend's. Admins never remove, edit or hide private messages, and see a message only when it has been reported.
Appeals. You can appeal any decision about you, as the EU Digital Services Act provides, using the link in the notice we send you, for 6 months after the decision. This works even if your account is frozen or banned. Where possible, a different admin from the one who decided reviews your appeal, and we tell you the outcome and why. If a removal or ban is reversed, everything is restored as it was. You can also take a dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or to a court.
The law. Content that appears to break the law, including a reported private message, may be passed to the police or other authorities. Authorities can contact us at authorities@ansever.com.
Ending your account
You can stop using Ansever at any time, from Settings:
- Deactivate to take a break: your account is hidden and nothing is deleted. It comes back as soon as you log in, or by itself after 30 days.
- Delete to leave: your account disappears at once and is deleted for good after 30 days. Log in within those 30 days if you change your mind. Before you go, you can download a copy of all your data.
When we close an account. We may ban an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other people at risk. We tell you why, and you can appeal (see above). We may also close Ansever, or end the service in a country; if so, we give you reasonable notice first, except where the law or people's safety requires us to act at once, so you can download your data.
The service, changes and the law
A free service, built carefully. Ansever is free for individuals. We work hard to keep it running, safe and secure, but like any online service it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance, and features may change as we build it. Some planned sections are shown in the menu as "Coming soon".
Liability. We are responsible for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, and for anything else the law doesn't let us exclude. Otherwise, because the service is free, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for what other people post or send. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms. If we change these terms, we update this page and its date. For important changes we tell you by email or in Ansever at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
Law and disputes. These terms are governed by the law of [country], without taking away the protections of the law of the country where you live. Disputes go to the courts of [place], or to the courts where you live if you are a consumer.
